What Reserve with Google is, and what it feeds in 2026
Reserve with Google is the program behind the blue Book Online, Reserve or Schedule button on a Business Profile. A scheduling provider integrates with Google’s booking platform; a business that uses that provider connects its profile; Google then shows the button in Search and Maps, reads the provider’s live availability, and lets the customer pick a slot without visiting the business’s website. Reserve with Google sends the customer a reminder 24 hours ahead, handles modified and cancelled bookings by email, and after the appointment sends a review request and a rebook link. Bookings data syncs back to the Performance section of the profile under a Bookings tab.
That has been true for years. What changed is who reads the feed. Google’s August 21, 2025 post on agentic features in AI Mode described the assistant searching “multiple reservation platforms and websites,” checking real-time availability and presenting a curated list with open slots, and it named OpenTable, Resy, Tock, Ticketmaster, StubHub, SeatGeek and Booksy as launch partners. Event tickets and beauty and wellness appointments followed in the Labs experiment in November 2025, with Fresha announcing on November 18, 2025 that its real-time availability was being brought into Search and AI Mode. Restaurant booking went worldwide in April 2026. And at I/O on May 19, 2026, Google said agentic booking in Search was expanding to “a wide range of new tasks, including local experiences and services,” rolling out to everyone in the U.S. over the summer. The platform-by-platform picture across ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode is in how AI agents book Denver service businesses; this post is the vendor list underneath the Google half of it.
The button also went paid. Search Engine Roundtable reported on August 28, 2026 that Google was extending the Reserve with Google book button from Local Services Ads and Maps into Search and Performance Max campaigns: advertisers with a published appointment action link get a Book button on their ads automatically, Google tracks the bookings without extra tagging, and an “Appointments booked” goal appears in eligible accounts. Healthcare campaigns are excluded. So the same feed now serves the organic profile, Maps, the AI assistant and paid ads. One integration, four doors.
The two ways to put booking on a profile
There are two options in the Bookings section of a profile, and they are not equal.
The first is an appointment link: a URL you type in that points at a page on your site (a booking page, a contact page, a page that explains how to book). It is free, works with any scheduler or none, can be tracked in GA4 with UTM tags, and depends on your category for availability. It is a link, so the customer leaves Google to use it, and the assistant can follow it but cannot read availability through it. It is better than nothing and worse than the second option.
The second is the booking button through a Reserve with Google partner. The customer stays on Google, sees the service types configured in the partner (not the Services section of your profile), picks a date and time from live availability, and confirms; if they are signed in, Google pre-fills their details. This is the one the assistant can transact against. Whitespark’s Business Profile guide of January 19, 2026 lists the eligible verticals as Dining, Activities, Beauty, Fitness, Shopping, Financial Services and Local Services, and notes that the Bookings tab may simply not appear for a category Google has not opened. Housecall Pro’s guide says the same: “the tab may not appear for every business category.”
The decision rule: if your scheduler is a partner, use the button; if it is not, use the link and put a real scheduler behind it rather than a form. If you have neither, the readiness checklist’s checks 13 and 14 (live availability, a booking method that is not a static form) are where you are failing, and the fix is this post.
Home services: Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Workiz, HighLevel
ServiceReserve published a provider check on September 30, 2026 in which it read each vendor’s own documentation that day. Combined with the vendors’ help pages, here is what each home-services scheduler does with Google.
| Scheduler | Google booking | Entry price listed | Limits documented | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber | Book Online button on all plans; your request or booking form is sent to Google | Core, $49/mo | One form connected at a time; address in Jobber must match the profile; service-area businesses contact support; changes take up to 72 hours to show | Small crews, cleaning, lawn, handyman, painting |
| Housecall Pro | Included on all plans; services and availability pulled from your Online Booking page; bookings land in the Job Inbox under a “Google” channel | Basic, $79/mo | Name, phone and address must match the profile exactly; an Online Booking page must exist first; multi-location uses child accounts; button appears within about 24 hours | Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, garage door, one to a few trucks |
| ServiceTitan | Basic integration included in the U.S. and Canada; Scheduling Pro add-on adds job-type mapping and direct-to-dispatch | Not published | Scheduling Pro price not published; the only one documenting several profiles in one account, one scheduler per profile; zones and ZIP codes supported | Multi-truck HVAC, plumbing, electrical with a dispatcher |
| Workiz | Online booking is an add-on | Not published | Profile limits not documented; forms include service types and optional deposits | Locksmith, appliance, junk removal, moving |
| HighLevel (Google Organic Booking) | Feeds set up per sub-account; bookings go into HighLevel calendars | Agency plans from $97/mo | First review usually one to two weeks | Businesses whose marketing agency runs HighLevel |
| FieldEdge, Service Fusion, Kickserv | No Google Business Profile booking integration found in documentation | — | Use the appointment-link option with your own booking page | — |
Jobber
Jobber’s help article (published April 15, 2026, updated September 23, 2026) says the connection is available on all plans. Jobber matches your profile automatically using the address in your company settings and sends your default request form link to Google; a Book Online button then appears on the listing in Search and Maps. Each form has its own profile setting and only one can be connected at a time, so a business with a “request a quote” form and a “book a visit” form has to pick, and the right pick for AI booking is the one that offers times. Businesses that use a service area rather than a street address need to contact Jobber support, which matters for most Denver trades that hide their home address. Connecting, disconnecting or switching forms can take up to 72 hours to show.
Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro’s Reserve with Google guide (first posted March 5, 2025, updated October 2026) is the most explicit about setup: business name, phone and address must be identical in Housecall Pro and the profile; the profile must be verified; you connect the Google account under Settings, Online Booking, Google; an Online Booking page must exist before you can toggle Book Online on; you then choose Housecall Pro as the scheduling partner in the profile’s Bookings tab. Services and availability come from Housecall Pro and later changes sync automatically. Bookings arrive in the Job Inbox in a “Google” channel, which the help center says now also carries Local Services Ads bookings, so one inbox holds both paid and organic Google bookings. The customer gets an instant confirmation and reminder, and a review prompt after the job.
ServiceTitan
ServiceTitan’s marketplace listing says the integration lets Google users book through your ServiceTitan-powered scheduling site, that Scheduling Pro is not required, and that Scheduling Pro adds job-type mapping and direct-to-dispatch bookings. The price of Scheduling Pro is not published. ServiceReserve’s check notes ServiceTitan is the only provider documenting several profiles under one account with one scheduler per profile, which is why multi-location companies gravitate to it. If you are on ServiceTitan without Scheduling Pro, ask your rep exactly which job types the basic integration exposes, because an assistant booking “furnace repair” needs that job type to exist in the feed, not a generic “service call.”
Workiz and HighLevel
Workiz treats online booking as an add-on with no published price and no documented profile limits; its forms support deposits, which is useful for trades with no-show problems. HighLevel’s Google Organic Booking runs through feeds configured per sub-account, with a first review that usually takes one to two weeks; it is the right answer only if your agency already runs your calendar there. If a vendor pitching you “AI booking” cannot tell you whether it is a Reserve with Google partner, ask that one question first.
What about an assistant that does not need a partner?
Trades that no partner serves well, or businesses that do not want to change schedulers, have a second path: a private booking endpoint that an assistant can call directly, answering service area, price range and open slots and taking the booking. That is the piece our sister company Doorhanger.ai builds for local businesses, alongside its free ten-second readiness scan. It is not a replacement for a Reserve with Google button where one is available; it is the route for the odd request the partner feed cannot carry and for trades the program has not reached.
Beauty, wellness and pet care: Booksy, Fresha, Vagaro, Square
This is the vertical where the feed is most mature, because it is where Google started. Booksy was in Google’s August 2025 launch list for AI Mode booking and announced its own integration; Fresha said on November 18, 2025 that its real-time availability was going into Search and AI Mode; Vagaro is named in trade coverage as a partner, though we did not find a Vagaro primary source and would ask the vendor directly. Booksy also became a ChatGPT booking partner on October 20, 2026, which makes it the one salon scheduler we know of that feeds both Google’s assistant and ChatGPT.
For a Denver salon, barber, lash studio, med spa or groomer, the practical questions are three. Does the scheduler expose each service with a duration and a price, because “book a balayage” needs a 150-minute slot and a range the assistant can read. Does it expose each stylist’s availability or only the shop’s, because the customer will ask for “anyone” half the time and “Marisol” the other half. And does it support deposits or card holds, because an assistant-booked customer who never spoke to a person is a higher no-show risk, and the scheduler, not Google, is where the hold lives.
Square Appointments and Setmore are the general-purpose options with a Google integration: Square has free and paid plans, requires a physical business location, and auto-accepts bookings, with each booking covering one service; Setmore has free and Pro plans and allows one Google location per account at a time. Both work for a solo operator; neither is built for a team of eight with different hours. Mindbody and Boulevard are widely used by fitness studios and salons and are partners of long standing; check the current partner status with the vendor before you commit, because partner lists change and we are reporting documentation, not testing every integration.
Pet care was one of the three categories Google named at I/O for calling businesses on a user’s behalf. If your grooming scheduler is a partner, the assistant books through it; if not, it may call you, and the toggles that govern that call are in the automated calls settings guide.
Restaurants, clinics and everyone else
Restaurants are the solved case: OpenTable, Resy and Tock were launch partners for AI Mode in August 2025, and the same three plus Yelp are what ChatGPT books through. If you take reservations on one of them, the booking rail exists and your job is making the listing accurate. If you only take reservations by phone, the assistant will call you (wait-time checks are a named use of Google’s automated calls) or move on.
Clinics are the complicated case. Dental, medical, chiropractic and physical therapy practices can use the booking button where their category allows it, but Google Ads excludes healthcare campaigns from the new ad booking buttons, and the assistant will not handle health details. The useful target for a clinic is narrower: a new-patient appointment type with a real slot, an “accepting new patients” statement on the site and profile, and insurance accepted listed in text. Zocdoc and the Yelp Assistant integration (April 2026) are the clinic-specific rails to ask about.
Professional services, auto repair, fitness and everyone else: use the booking button if the category supports it and the scheduler is a partner; otherwise use the appointment link pointed at a page with a real calendar. Whitespark cites partner estimates that 50 to 75% of customers booking through the button are new and that one partner estimated 40% of bookings happen after hours; those are partner-reported figures, not audited, but they match what we see on client profiles, where the button’s bookings are overwhelmingly first-time customers at hours the phone is not answered.
What the button does to leads, and what it does not do to rankings
Be clear about what you are buying. Whitespark’s guide labels the Bookings feature as not influencing rankings, and we have no evidence otherwise. Connecting Housecall Pro will not move you from fourth to second in the map pack. What it changes is what happens after you are found: a customer, or an assistant acting for one, can finish the job on the spot instead of calling, filling a form or leaving. The ranking work is separate and it is what local SEO for Denver is for; the booking work is what turns the ranking into revenue.
| Area | Before (appointment link or none) | After (partner button) | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Map pack position | Set by relevance, distance, prominence | Unchanged | Whitespark GBP guide, Jan 19, 2026: no ranking influence |
| AI Mode booking | Assistant can name you; sends the customer to your site or calls you | Assistant can show your open slots and book | Google, Aug 21, 2025 and May 19, 2026 |
| After-hours conversion | Voicemail or a form | Self-serve booking from Google | Partner estimate of 40% of bookings after hours (via Whitespark) |
| Paid ads | Call or site click | Book button on Search and Performance Max ads, bookings tracked | Search Engine Roundtable, Aug 28, 2026 |
| Reviews | Manual ask | Automatic post-appointment review request from Reserve with Google | Whitespark GBP guide |
| Reporting | Scheduler only | Bookings tab in profile Performance plus the scheduler | Whitespark GBP guide |
The second row is the one to read twice. Without the feed, the best an assistant can do is recommend you and hand the customer a phone number; with it, the assistant can close. In our client work the gap between those two shows up as the difference between “they mentioned us” and a job on the calendar with a name attached, and it is the reason the booking rail sits in stage four of the AI readiness checklist.
The setup mistakes that hide your button
Most “we connected it and nothing happened” cases come down to one of six things, and all six are in the vendor documentation.
- The address does not match. Jobber matches your profile by the address in company settings; Housecall Pro requires name, phone and address to be identical. A suite number on one and not the other is enough to fail silently. Service-area businesses with a hidden address need the vendor’s support path (Jobber says to contact them).
- The category does not support bookings. If the Bookings tab is not in your profile, no scheduler can put it there. Check your primary category against the eligible verticals and consider whether a more specific category in the same trade has the tab.
- Two forms, wrong one connected. Jobber allows one connected form. If the connected form is “request a quote” with no times, the button exists but the assistant cannot book against it.
- No online booking page. Housecall Pro will not enable Google booking until an Online Booking page exists with services and availability. The feed reads that page; an empty page is an empty feed.
- Waiting less than the sync window. Jobber says up to 72 hours; Housecall Pro says about 24; HighLevel’s first review is one to two weeks. Check after the window, not before.
- Job types that do not match what customers ask for. The assistant books “furnace repair,” “men’s cut,” “new patient exam.” If the feed offers “service visit” and “appointment,” the match fails and the assistant goes to a competitor whose feed is specific. Name job types the way your published price ranges name services, so the site, the profile and the feed agree.
Then test it the only way that counts. Open AI Mode or Gemini, ask in plain words for a business like yours in your suburb with an opening this week, and ask it to book. Open ChatGPT and do the same if your scheduler is a ChatGPT partner. Save the transcript. If the assistant shows your slots, you are done; if it shows a competitor’s and tells the customer to call you, you have found the gap, and it is almost always one of the six above.
A Denver decision guide, trade by trade
Here is how we would choose for a Denver business starting from scratch, assuming it wants to be bookable by Google’s assistant and is not already locked into a platform.
- Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, one to three trucks: Housecall Pro. Included on all plans, the clearest setup, bookings and LSA leads in one inbox. Build the Online Booking page with specific job types and a price range on each.
- The same trades at six trucks and a dispatcher: ServiceTitan, and ask whether Scheduling Pro’s job-type mapping is needed for your booking flow before you buy it. Confirm which job types the basic integration exposes.
- Cleaning, lawn, handyman, painting, pressure washing: Jobber. Connect the booking form (with times), not the quote form; if you hide your address, open the support ticket on day one.
- Locksmith, appliance repair, junk removal, movers: Workiz if you want deposits on the booking; otherwise Jobber.
- Salon, barber, lash, brow, massage, med spa: Booksy or Fresha, with each service carrying a duration and a price and each provider’s hours set. Booksy if you also want the ChatGPT rail.
- Grooming and pet care: whichever of the beauty-category partners your vendor supports; confirm partner status in writing.
- Restaurants: OpenTable, Resy or Tock, chosen for the dining room, not for Google; all three feed the assistants.
- Dental, chiro, PT, medical: a scheduler with a new-patient appointment type exposed to Google, plus Zocdoc if it fits the specialty; accept that paid booking buttons are off the table for healthcare.
- Solo consultants, auto repair, fitness, everyone else: Square Appointments or Setmore if they fit, otherwise the appointment link pointed at a real calendar.
- Any trade the program does not reach well: the appointment link plus a private booking endpoint, and the ten-line phone card from the automated-calls guide so the call path works too.
Two cautions on the guide. Prices and partner status are what the vendors documented on the dates cited; they change, and we have not run every integration ourselves. And a scheduler is a business decision before it is a marketing one: do not move a dispatcher off ServiceTitan to save $70 a month on a Google button. If you want the connection set up and tested as part of a campaign, it is included in get booked by AI agents, and the readiness pass in the free audit will tell you first whether your category even has the tab.
Not sure which scheduler fits, or whether your category has the tab?
The free audit includes a readiness pass: we check your profile category, your current booking setup and what AI Mode actually shows when asked to book you, and tell you the shortest path to a working button. You keep the findings either way.

What is Reserve with Google?
Google’s program that lets a partner scheduling provider place a Book Online or Reserve button on a Business Profile and pass live availability to Search, Maps and, since August 2025, AI Mode’s agentic booking. The customer picks a slot without leaving Google; Reserve with Google sends reminders and a post-appointment review request.
Does Housecall Pro work with Reserve with Google?
Yes. Housecall Pro’s guide says the integration is included on all plans: match name, phone and address to the profile, verify the profile, connect Google under Settings, Online Booking, create an Online Booking page, toggle Book Online on, and pick Housecall Pro as the scheduling partner in the profile’s Bookings tab. Bookings land in the Job Inbox under a Google channel.
Does Jobber put a Book Online button on Google?
Yes, on all plans, per Jobber’s help article updated September 23, 2026. Jobber matches your profile by the address in company settings and sends your default form to Google. Only one form can be connected at a time, changes take up to 72 hours, and service-area businesses without a street address need to contact Jobber support.
Does ServiceTitan require Scheduling Pro for Reserve with Google?
No. ServiceTitan’s marketplace listing says the basic integration works with your own scheduler, and Scheduling Pro adds job-type mapping and direct-to-dispatch bookings. Scheduling Pro’s price is not published. Ask which job types the basic integration exposes before relying on it for AI booking.
Does a Google booking button improve local rankings?
No. Whitespark’s Business Profile guide (January 19, 2026) labels Bookings as not influencing rankings. The button changes what happens after you are found: a customer or an AI assistant can book a slot instead of calling. Ranking is separate work.
Which salon schedulers feed Google AI Mode?
Booksy was in Google’s August 2025 launch list for AI Mode booking; Fresha announced on November 18, 2025 that its availability was going into Search and AI Mode; Vagaro is named in trade coverage and should be confirmed with the vendor. Booksy also became a ChatGPT booking partner on October 20, 2026.
What if my scheduler is not a Reserve with Google partner?
Use the appointment-link option in the Bookings section, pointed at a page with a real calendar rather than a contact form, and consider a private booking endpoint an assistant can call directly. Keep the phone path working too, because Google’s assistant may call businesses it cannot book through a partner.
