AI Chatbots
Somebody Asked You a Question at 11:47pm
Your contact form took their name. This one answered them, gave them a number, and booked the call.
Around 40% of people say the reason they use a chat assistant is support outside business hours, and 68% name speed as the main benefit. Meanwhile MIT research found replying in five minutes rather than thirty makes you roughly 21 times more likely to qualify the lead. Your form cannot do either.

A demonstration, not a recorded customer. The behaviour is real — the same assistant is running on this page.
Your Contact Form Is the Weakest Thing on Your Website
It asks a stranger to fill in boxes, give up their details, and then wait an unspecified amount of time for an unknown outcome. It is remarkable that any of them do it.
The rate at which chat-led funnels convert compared with static forms, the figure that recurs most consistently across industry research.
Of chatbot-adopting businesses report an increase in high-quality leads — up from 55%. HubSpot benchmarking, 4,800 teams across 32 countries

Of users say the reason they use chat is getting help outside business hours. That is the window your form is losing.
Not a Pop-Up That Says “How Can I Help You?”
Most website chat is a greeting attached to a form. Ours is a knowledge base with a conversation on the front of it — it knows your services, your pricing logic, your service area and your objections.
Trained on your business
Your services, your ranges, the questions you answer on the phone forty times a week, and the ones you wish people asked. Not a generic script with your logo on it.
Qualifies, not just captures
It asks what they need, where they are and how soon — so the lead that reaches you is already scoped. Lead qualification time drops sharply when this happens before you pick up the phone.
Handles the objection
Price, timing, whether you cover their area, whether you are any good. The four things that stop a visitor calling get answered in the moment rather than never.
Honest about what it is
It says it is a bot when asked, and hands off to a person when that is the better answer. Pretending otherwise gets found out around message three and costs you the lead.
Runs on your site, not a platform
One script file on your own domain. No per-seat subscription to a third party, no data leaving to a service you have never heard of, nothing that stops working when a vendor changes their plans.
Knows which page it is on
A visitor on a pricing page and one on a service page get different openings. Context is most of what makes a conversation feel like one.
You Are on a Page With One Running
Every other page selling chatbots asks you to book a demo. Ours is in the corner of this page and you can break it right now. Ask it something awkward — what it costs, why you should not hire us, whether SEO is worth doing at all.
It knows roughly 190 topics, it will tell you when it does not know something, and it will hand you a phone number rather than waste your time. That is the standard we build to, because we had to live with it first.
We build these for clients too — there is a different one running on our contractor marketing site, trained on an entirely different trade and set of questions.
Reported Lift by Industry
Published 2026 industry benchmarks. Ranges, because the variation between two businesses in the same trade is wider than the variation between trades.
Real estate
Property enquiries and lead qualification — the highest reported lead-capture lift of any category.
Legal
Initial intake and consultation requests. Deflection is low here by design; the value is the booked consult, not the saved ticket.
Healthcare & clinics
Appointment bookings, driven largely by scheduling questions answered outside opening hours.
Financial services
Pre-qualification questions, where people want an answer before they will give a name.
Home services and the trades are not in most published tables, which says more about who commissions the research than about the result. In our experience the after-hours effect is strongest there — emergencies do not keep office hours. See marketing by industry for how that plays out per trade.
What a Chatbot Will Not Fix
Every vendor in this category will tell you it solves everything. Here is what it does not.
It will not rescue a site nobody visits
A chatbot converts traffic you already have. If the problem is that nobody finds you, this is the wrong purchase and search work or local visibility is the right one. We will say so.
It will not replace answering the phone
Most local buyers still want a human, and a bot that blocks that path converts worse, not better. Ours puts your number in front of people early and often.
It will not close for you
It gets you a warm, scoped lead at two in the morning. What happens on the follow-up call is still your sales process — and that is where most of the money is won or lost.
It will not fix a slow website
If your pages take five seconds on a phone, most visitors are gone before they ever see a chat bubble. Speed comes first, always.
Practical Questions
It depends almost entirely on how much it needs to know and what it needs to connect to. A focused assistant covering your services, pricing logic and common objections is a different build from one wired into a booking system and a CRM. There is no per-seat platform fee, because it runs on your own site rather than someone else's subscription. Scoping it takes one short conversation. VIP members get member pricing on this like everything else.
Not the way we build them. Ours answer from a written knowledge base rather than generating freely, so it can only say what you have approved. When a question falls outside that, it says so and offers a human. That is the single most important design decision in the whole category — a confident wrong answer about your pricing or your service area does more damage than no answer at all.
Reported engagement runs around 10–20% of visitors across verticals, and roughly 40% of users say they would rather use chat than wait for a person. Where it genuinely earns out is the hours nobody is at the desk. If your enquiries all arrive between nine and five and you answer them in five minutes, the case is much weaker and we will tell you that.
To your inbox, immediately, with the whole conversation attached — so you can see what they asked before you call back. It can also post to a CRM if you run one. What matters more is what you do next: MIT and InsideSales found contacting a lead within five minutes rather than thirty makes you about 21 times more likely to qualify it.
A focused assistant is typically two to three weeks. Most of that is not code — it is writing the knowledge base, which means getting your real answers out of your head and onto a page. That part is genuinely useful on its own; a lot of clients end up rewriting website copy off the back of it.
It should not, and if it does, something is built wrong. Ours load after the page does, so the visible content is never waiting on the chat. That is worth asking any vendor, because a chat widget that blocks rendering costs you more visitors than it converts — Google abandons over half of mobile visits past three seconds.
